very wealthy’ to which I would add, ‘or work very hard’!
It’s nearly forty years since my husband and I decided to live simply. For
a start, we moved to the country and he left his pension-related job. |

Keynote speaker at Latin America Week this year was Dr. Nilton Deza from the community
of Cajamarca set high in the Andes of Peru and President of ECO-VIDA. The annual
conference hosted by LASC(Latin America Solidarity Centre) took place in the Teacher’s
club, Dublin. LASC theme this year was Health in globalised world:communities

A Pilot Project in Responsible Tourism
Seán Conlan is a very lucky man. Why? Because he gets to think about holidays
all day. The downside is that he’s thinking about other peoples’ holidays
and how to make them extra special, long-lasting only in memory, not on the environment.
Seán Conlan is the new CEO of ‘The Green Box,’ a new organisation
looking at encouraging and developing responsible tourism in the Leitrim and Fermanagh

Shopping is generally a chore, but there is a small grace. The Eco Shop helps
to buck this trend. Dreamed up by Jane this beautiful venture is just over a year
old.
How did it start? Jane was frustrated with the difficulties of finding fair-traded
and organic produce. Often you had to try a few shops and accept a limited range. |
